Data Deletion Instructions

Quick Summary: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. If you can't log in, email us and we'll handle it for you.

What Data We Store

When you use MagicMenu, we store the following information associated with your account:

  • Account Information: Email address, display name, and encrypted password
  • Dietary Preferences: Food allergies, dietary restrictions, cuisine preferences, and cooking skill level
  • Generated Content: Meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, and your feedback on them
  • Subscription Data: Billing history and subscription status (payment details are stored by Stripe, not by us)
  • Usage Data: Session information, feature usage logs, and AI cost tracking

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1: Delete from Account Settings (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your MagicMenu account
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Select Delete Your Account
  4. Type DELETE to confirm
  5. Your account and all associated data will be permanently removed

Option 2: Email Request

If you are unable to log in or prefer to have us handle the deletion, send an email to:

Please include the email address associated with your account so we can locate your data.

What Happens When You Delete

  • Your account and profile information are permanently deleted
  • All generated menus, recipes, and shopping lists are removed
  • Your dietary preferences and feedback history are erased
  • Any active subscription is cancelled
  • Usage data and AI cost records are purged

Timeframe: Self-service deletions via account settings are processed immediately. Email requests are processed within 30 days of receipt.

Data Export

Before deleting your account, you may request a copy of your data. Logged-in users can request an export from their account settings. You can also email [email protected] to request an export.

Third-Party Data

If you signed up using a third-party login provider (such as Facebook or Google), deleting your MagicMenu account removes all data stored by MagicMenu. To revoke MagicMenu's access to your third-party account, visit that provider's app permissions settings.
