Peanut Butter Banana Toast with Milk and Berries
Ingredients
- 4 slices whole-grain bread
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 1/2 medium bananas, sliced
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 tbsp milk (for drizzling or thinning peanut butter if needed)
- 1 cup berries (strawberries, blueberries, or a mix)
- 4 cups milk (for drinking)
Instructions
- Toast the bread slices in a toaster or skillet until golden and crisp, 2–4 minutes.
- In a small bowl, stir together the peanut butter, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and cinnamon. If it feels too thick to spread, stir in a little milk (start with 1 tbsp).
- Spread the peanut butter mixture generously over the hot toast.
- Top with the banana slices. Serve immediately.
- Arrange berries on the side. Pour a glass of milk for each serving and enjoy. (Total servings: 4.)
Cooking tips
- Toast the bread until just crisp, then spread the peanut butter immediately so it melts slightly and clings. - For extra flavor, warm the peanut butter in the microwave for 15–20 seconds before spreading. - Use ripe bananas for sweeter taste; slice right before serving to reduce browning. - If you like a little crunch, add a sprinkle of chopped peanuts or sesame seeds on top (optional). - Serve with berries slightly chilled for a refreshing contrast to the warm toast.
